Open Honeybee Feeding and Hive Inspection Results

I went through the hives today, and I must say, I am horrible at spotting my queens.  I did spot one of them briefly, but she ran for it and I lost her in the shuffle.

One thing I can say, I know I am queen right, as I saw larvae, eggs, and capped brood. I still intend to do some splits so I need to get better at finding my queens.  I am going to a beekeeping class in Jackson, MS in a couple of weeks so maybe I can get some tips there.

I have one hive with some queen cups on them. They look like supersedure cells, as they are up on the actual frame and not hanging from the bottom. I added another deep hive body to make sure the bees have plenty of room. I have a lot of honey in there. I am wondering if I can use supersedure queen cells for splits. Any advice there would be appreciated.

I also planted some wildflowers and clover for the bees to feast upon.  These are the seeds I ordered from www.migardener.com. Here is to hoping they come up well.

I did some rearranging of the bee yard. I moved some hives to a different yard, and started an area on a different section of my property. I didn’t get around to making the nuc boxes today, but I ran out of daylight. Maybe tomorrow.
